Every volunteer receives a free ticket to enjoy the festival at a time other than their designated shift, a t-shirt and a commemorative wine glass. Below are a variety of positions available from which to choose. There will be two 4-hour shifts each day. We ask that each volunteer attend one of the volunteer meetings that will be held prior to the event. Please fill out the Volunteer Application and mail, fax or email it back to us promptly to receive the position of your choice. Thank you for volunteering!
Position Descriptions
Set Up on Friday -- You can get behind the scenes and see how the event comes to life. Come in the day before the event to help the committee set up the festival grounds. You can direct and escort vendors to their spaces on the grounds; set up tables; or help to organize the festival entrance tent and VIP tent. If you help out on Friday you will have all day Saturday or Sunday to use your free ticket to the CBWF. This position requires lifting and walking. Some seated work, but not much.
Set Up on Saturday -- Come out bright and early and help the festival come to life. You can direct and escort vendors to their spaces on the grounds; set up tables; or help organize the festival entrance tent and VIP tent. If you help set up you will have all day Saturday to use your free ticket to the CBWF.
Admissions/Ticket Sales Assistant -- This position is at the front gate. You will be the first face that many guests see when they come to the event. If you can smile, count money and check IDs (allowing only 21 and older to wear the “tasting” wristband) then this is the job for you. This position is seated for the duration and is under a tent.
Buy and Fly Attendant -- Are you the most organized person you know? Are you friendly? We could use your help. This job apples all of your talents. You will collect the wine dropped off by volunteers from the various wineries and organize them by the purchasers last name. As individuals leave the event, they can pick up their wine on the way out... no need to carry it all day. This position is under a tent, but requires you to stand much of the shift.
Educational Seminar Assistant -- Use your talents for public speaking to help in the Educational Seminar Area. Assist demonstrators, hand out materials and provide information to the guests. This position is under a tent and requires some standing but has many opportunities for breaks when you could sit.
Wine Glass/Program Assistant -- You get to hand everyone the sought-after commemorative glasses and programs. You will be the most popular volunteer at the festival. You will also assist by unwrapping the glasses prior to the event getting them ready to hand out to the guests. This position is under a tent, and it requires a good bit of standing.
Sunday Break-down Assistant -- Help break-down and clean-up the festival. You’ll be among the core group of volunteers as we clear the festival out. You can use your complimentary ticket for either Saturday or Sunday and you’ll have the whole day to take in the festivities. Then be among the few to see what happens after the crowds part. This is a short shift... but don’t be fooled, it is a very busy shift.
